Job summary

1008 Disney Worldwide Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Counsel, DTC Product to support Disney's direct-to-consumer streaming products at the intersection of entertainment and technology.

You will advise product, technology, design, business operations, and customer service teams on matters involving Disney+', Hulu, and ESPN, including in-app experiences and commerce, while managing risk and guiding launches with practical legal insights.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in product, technology, digital media, streaming, or direct-to-consumer counseling.
• Ability to assess risk and develop practical, business-focused solutions.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and communicate legal requirements clearly to product and engineering teams.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with stakeholders at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on DTC product and technology initiatives, enabling innovation while managing risk.
• Counsel product, technology, operations, and customer service teams on Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN matters, including in-app experiences and commerce.
• Support launches, feature development, partner integrations, and operations by identifying issues early and recommending paths forward.
• Advise on moderately to highly complex matters with sound judgment and precedent across disciplines.
• Partner with privacy, IP, product and tech teams to provide coordinated guidance.
• Synthesize contractual and consumer legal requirements to identify applicable constraints.
• Assist with litigation risk assessment, dispute strategy, regulatory inquiries, and incident response.
• Maintain trusted relationships with senior business partners as a go-to resource.
