Job Description Summary

The Senior Commercial Counsel for Digital Technology/Information Technology (DT/IT) procurement provides ongoing legal advice and support to business leaders across GE Aerospace. This role can be remote within the US.

Job Description

The Senior Commercial Counsel for DT/IT procurement offers legal support to GE Aerospace, working with the Legal and Compliance team, a dynamic group of commercial and legal professionals. You will work across all organizational levels, collaborating with legal, compliance, IP, supply chain, and engineering teams to draft, negotiate, and strategize on various agreements, especially in DT/IT procurement.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on digital technology agreements, including structuring, interpreting, and negotiating deals, supporting both commercial and U.S. government business, and addressing disputes and compliance issues.
• Advise legal and non-legal colleagues on legal and business issues.
• Oversee audits related to emerging risks and implement strategies to mitigate them.
• Develop solutions for unanticipated legal and business issues.
• Manage referrals to internal legal specialists and outside counsel when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing with the State Bar.
• At least 7 years of legal experience, with a focus on technology.
• Experience negotiating technology procurement agreements (software, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, hardware, telecom).
• Knowledge of global data privacy laws, cybersecurity standards, and intellectual property law.
• Ability to structure, interpret, and negotiate complex deals and advise on legal risks.
