Job summary

Optum is seeking a senior attorney to support the Digital Pharmacies and Payer Relations Team. You will guide complex commercial agreements and advise on regulatory, operational, and growth initiatives.

You can work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. and collaborate with Compliance, Privacy, Finance, and other stakeholders to balance risk and business objectives.

The position requires 8+ years’ experience, a J.D., and active licensure; healthcare/pharmacy law experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree.
• Active license to practice law in the relevant state.
• 8+ years of attorney experience in law firm or in-house.
• Significant contract negotiation experience.
• Experience with large transactions and acquisitions.
• Familiarity with healthcare/pharmacy law.
• Knowledge of False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Digital Pharmacies and Payer Relations Team.
• Counsel on pharmacy product, operations and regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on commercial initiatives.
• Lead negotiation, drafting and interpretation of complex agreements.
• Advise executives on legal, regulatory and reputational risks.
• Support the pharmacies' 340B business.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Regulatory, Privacy, Finance, and others.
• Develop practical solutions balancing risk and business goals.
• Mentor other attorneys and legal professionals.
