Job summary

Phillips 66 is seeking a Senior Counsel, Compliance to provide strategic legal advice on compliance and ethics matters across the company’s global operations. You will partner with senior leaders and stakeholders to translate complex regulations into practical guidance, shaping a risk-based, business-aligned compliance program.

The role requires a J.D., bar admission, and 5+ years in compliance or related fields, including sanctions experience, across multiple geographies.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Currently licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one relevant U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5 or more years of experience practicing law in compliance, regulatory, investigations, or related areas.
• 1 or more years of experience with trade compliance and sanctions, including OFAC compliance programs and sanctions screening.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of energy commodities trading.

Responsibilities

• Providing strategic legal advice on complex compliance and ethics matters across the enterprise.
• Engaging early in business initiatives to assess compliance risks.
• Advise on risk mitigations during negotiations in multiple geographies.
• Support design and improvement of compliance policies and governance frameworks.
• Counsel on OFAC sanctions screening program design, licenses, and due diligence.
• Lead internal reviews and investigations, and advise on high-risk third-party relationships.
