Job summary

Finalsite is seeking an Associate General Counsel to provide practical legal counsel on commercial transactions, SaaS agreements, and data privacy within a fast-paced tech environment. You will partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to mitigate risk while enabling growth.

Ideal candidates have a JD, active bar admission, 8–10+ years in-house experience, and strong skills in negotiation, policy, and contract templates.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in good standing with at least one US jurisdiction.
8–10+ years of progressively responsible legal experience, with significant in-house experience preferred.
Strong ability to assess risk and provide actionable recommendations.
Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial and technology transactions.
Knowledge of SaaS, software licensing, data privacy, and data security in commercial contexts.
Experience advising leadership and cross-functional partners with strategic, business-focused counsel.
Experience handling customer disputes and coordinating with outside counsel when appropriate.
Ability to monitor federal/state law affecting commercial transactions and translate into guidance.
Experience creating templates, playbooks, and contracting practices to improve efficiency and scalability.
Proven ability to manage multiple matters independently with urgency.
Excellent written and verbal communication; solutions-oriented and business-focused.
Experience in payment processing is a plus.
Experience with Ironclad or similar CLM is a plus.
Experience with agreements for K-12 schools is a plus.

Responsibilities
