Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Counsel for AI Product (Enterprise/API) based in San Francisco. You will advise teams building and deploying ChatGPT Business, ChatGPT Enterprise, and API platforms, partnering with Product, Engineering, Safety, Privacy, and Go-to-Market to address enterprise product development, data protections, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in-house or technology-focused law firms.
JD and license to practice in California.
Ability to balance business needs with legal risk in AI products.
Proven ability to collaborate across product, security, privacy and policy teams.

Responsibilities

Serve as strategic legal partner to teams developing OpenAI's AI business products, enterprise features, and API offerings.
Advise on product design and launches involving enterprise administration, data governance and identity/access.
Counsel on deploying frontier AI capabilities responsibly while balancing commitments to customers, safety, security and privacy.
Support strategic partnerships and distribution arrangements with cloud platforms and third-party channels.
Partner with Commercial Legal, Privacy, Security, Safety, Product Policy, and GTM teams on customer commitments and product terms.
Identify emerging legal and policy issues across OpenAI’s B2B products and shape cross-functional strategies.
