Job summary
Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Corporate Counsel to support Alexa, Amazon's AI-powered voice assistant used by millions worldwide. You will partner with product, engineering, privacy, and business teams to advise on emerging technologies and legal risk.
You will lead complex technology agreements, provide regulatory guidance across IP, privacy, and compliance, and help scale safe, innovative products in a global context.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience in technology or in-house roles.
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing is preferred.
- Background in privacy law and data protection regulations (GDPR/CCPA).
- Experience advising cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead product counsel on strategic initiatives, product launches, and commercial matters for the Alexa business.
- Advise on legal considerations and risks related to AI-powered products, voice tech, devices, and services.
- Structure, draft, negotiate, and advise on complex technology and licensing agreements.
- Provide practical legal guidance in IP, privacy, consumer protection, digital media, and regulatory matters.
- Counsel teams across the product lifecycle from concept to post-launch operations.
- Develop creative solutions to mitigate legal risk while supporting innovation.
- Support scalable legal frameworks enabling rapid product development with trust.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, privacy, policy, and business development.
