Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate need for a Senior Couchbase DBA / Database Architect for a 06+ months contract in Plano, TX (onsite).

The role requires designing scalable cluster architecture in on-premises and AWS environments, administering clusters, and driving DR planning and security controls. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of database experience, 5+ years with Couchbase, and strong leadership in production-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Couchbase architecture and cluster administration experience.
• XDCR, HA/DR, and backup/recovery experience.
• AWS, Linux, Python/Shell automation and enterprise troubleshooting.
• 10+ years database experience, with 5+ years hands-on Couchbase.
• Senior hands-on architect/technical lead in production-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable Couchbase cluster architecture on-premises and in AWS.
• Administer clusters: upgrades, patching, rebalance, and production operations.
• Design XDCR, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
• Implement security controls, monitoring, and Linux/Python/Shell automation.
• Partner with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams; lead technical reviews and mentor DBAs.

Job description

Immediate need for a talented Senior Couchbase DBA / Database Architect. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Plano, TX (Onsite).

Pay Range: $50 - $52/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Design scalable, secure, highly available Couchbase cluster architecture on-premises and in AWS.
• Administer clusters, upgrades, patching, rebalance, failover and production operations.
• Design XDCR, backup/recovery, disaster recovery and capacity planning.
• Implement security controls, monitoring and Linux/Python/Shell automation.
• Partner with application, cloud and infrastructure teams; lead technical reviews and mentor DBAs.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Key Skills; Couchbase architecture, cluster administration, upgrades and L3 production support.
• SQL++ performance tuning, indexing, XDCR, HA/DR, backup and recovery.
• AWS, Linux, Python/Shell automation and enterprise troubleshooting.
• Minimum 10+ years overall database experience; preferably 5+ years hands‑on Couchbase.
• Senior hands‑on architect / technical lead; production‑critical environments.
• Deliverables: resilient architecture, operational stability, performance optimization, automation and incident resolution.
