Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to join our Chicago team and deliver cost management services on complex construction projects across commercial real estate and data center sectors. You will manage cost control, develop estimates, and provide commercial insight to drive project outcomes.

The role requires 3–5 years in cost management, a relevant degree, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant cost management experience in construction.
• RICS accreditation is valuable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on strategies, vendor prequalification, and bid assessment with recommendations.
• Develop project estimates covering construction, fees, direct costs, and other expenses.
• Prepare and present cost reports and forecasts; maintain the commercial risk register.
• Review payments, change orders, and contractor entitlements with project managers.
• Oversee final accounting, post‑contract audits, and lessons learned documentation.
• Support cost control through benchmarking and value engineering.
