Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Valley City/Towson hybrid role, seeks a Senior Manager, Cost Engineer to lead enterprise cost engineering efforts. You will drive vision, strategy, and roadmaps for cost modeling, analytics, and transparency across regions, influencing product design, sourcing, and margin improvements.

You will collaborate with procurement, engineering, operations, and finance to deliver cost insights, evaluate supplier positions, and push continuous improvement through VAVE and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar discipline preferred.
• MBA or advanced technical/business degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in cost engineering, manufacturing, engineering, sourcing, or related functions with increasing scope and leadership responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience leading should-cost modeling, cost analytics, value engineering, or design-to-cost initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the enterprise cost engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap across units and regions.
• Provide cost insights to support supplier negotiations, cost gap analysis, and sourcing strategy development.
• Lead cost engineering participation in VAVE, productivity, and cost optimization initiatives.
• Establish KPIs, reporting, and governance to measure impact across the enterprise.
