Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a seasoned Cost Engineer to join the Lake Charles project team in Louisiana. You will perform cost estimating, analysis and controls for large-scale LNG facilities, delivering data-driven insights to manage budgets and risks.

Responsibilities include developing cost trends, coordinating with construction, engineering and procurement, and presenting findings to management. A bachelor’s degree and 8–10+ years EPC experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8–10 years of relevant experience or 12–14 years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, and trend program coordination.
• Intermediate knowledge of EPC concepts.
• Experience with Ecosys, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Demonstrated experience with Power BI.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present complex cost analyses to management.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities on-site as part of the cost team.
• Develop cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, Bechtel systems, and reports for specific disciplines.
• Assist with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific disciplines.
• Prepare cost data for proposals or contracts.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to validate scope, quantify impacts, and communicate risks and cost impacts to management.
• Interface with Bechtel and client counterparts for cost reviews and presentations.
• Maintain strong cost records and budget control for the discipline.
