Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP is seeking a Cost Analyst to support budgets, forecasts, and project cost control on multiple engineering projects. The role emphasizes collaboration with Project Managers, maintaining change logs, and preparing funding requests through Unifier.

The candidate will analyze cost variances, validate costs, and generate reports, contributing to accurate cost planning and project closeout activities within a federal contracting environment.

Qualifications

• Degree required or relevant construction/engineering management background.
• Experience with project cost control and budgeting processes.
• Analytical mindset for cost variance analysis.
• Strong communication with project stakeholders.
• Familiarity with change control and funding requests.
• Experience in construction project environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update monthly forecast budgets.
• Ensure responses to project budget reflect accurate and current cost information.
• Maintain scope change, contingency release, change orders, and journal logs.
• Assist PMs in preparing funding requests for project authorization.
• Assist PMs in funding changes via Unifier change control system.
• Assist closeout with other departments and define deliverables and dates.
• Communicate project costs risks to key stakeholders.
• Analyze and trend cost variances vs. current cost plan.
• Analyze and validate unauthorized costs and report to PMs and supervision.
• Develop and analyze cost plans; forecast costs to complete.
• Manage project funding orders and ensure proper documentation.
• Use cost and schedule plans to judge project objective achievability.
• Verify milestones and suggest process improvements with responsible parties.
• Assess project performance using industry-standard reporting methods.
• Input data into programs and prepare cost/forecasting reports.
• Maintain project documentation and records per guidelines.
• Provide special reports to supervisor or manager when requested.
