Job summary

Naval Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced cost estimator to join an integrated product team focused on naval aviation systems.

You will develop system cost estimates for development, procurement, and support, translating technical and financial risk into reliable figures. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, CS, or Engineering and 8+ years of DoD or related experience, with the ability to obtain a Secret DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate as part of an integrated product team with engineers and logisticians to formulate system cost estimates for development, procurement, and support of Naval Aviation Systems.
• Apply diversified knowledge of cost estimating principles and translate technical and financial risk into estimates with risk adjustments.
• Handle budgeting, planning, programming, and acquisition processes as well as logistics support processes; modify and extend methodologies.

Job description

Responsibilities

Operate as part of an integrated product team working closely with engineers and logisticians to formulate a system cost estimate used in developing, acquiring, and supporting affordable Naval Aviation Systems. Apply diversified knowledge of weapons systems cost estimating principles and practices across assignments. Provide an understanding of technical baseline, translate technical and financial risk into cost estimates including risk application to provide estimate confidence. Handle budgeting, planning, programming, and acquisition processes, as well as logistics support processes. Modify and extend existing methodologies, employing advanced techniques. Expected to work independently or in a team lead role providing technical guidance or consulting with mid‑ and junior‑level analysts.

Location

Primarily telework. Requires on‑site presence at Patuxent River, MD 1‑2 days per week.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

8+ years of DoD or related experience desired.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain a Secret DoD clearance.
