Job summary

Quantech Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cost Specialist (Junior Cost Estimator) to join our DoD-focused team in GA. Onsite, full-time, you will develop life cycle cost estimates for weapon system programs and analyze data to inform cost decisions.

You will collaborate with cost analysts and SMEs, apply regression analysis, and build risk-adjusted cost models. A BS/BA in a quantitative field and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA with 21 semester hours in quantitative analysis courses.
  • 3 semester hours of Calculus or Statistics.
  • Typical Degrees: Math, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Computer Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop life cycle cost estimates for DoD weapon system programs.
  • Analyze historical data and develop cost estimating relationships using regression analysis.
  • Understand technology trends and analyze impact on cost.
  • Analyze software program progress tracking tools (JIRA, Microsoft TFS) and develop metrics for program managers.
  • Interview functional specialists to support estimating methodology development.
  • Develop risk distributions for cost driver variables and cost estimating relationship equations.
  • Analyze program schedules and quantify schedule uncertainty.
  • Build complex spreadsheet-based program cost models for decision analysis.
  • Apply statistics concepts to quantify the probability of success for program budget and schedule plans.
  • Conduct business case analyses, trade studies, and economic analyses.

Overview / Customer Profile: Seeking energetic professionals with expertise in cost, statistical, economic, and/or quantitative analysis to support Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs within the United States Air Force (USAF) and United States Space Force (USSF). Our clients require analytical support for a wide range of systems, including aircraft, radars, IT, agile DevSecOps, cyber, and ISR missions. We support several DoD Software Factories implementing agile development frameworks, bringing together disparate systems from multiple services, and common development platforms for weapon systems with common tools with a continuous authority to operate. This is an opportunity to develop skills in cost, schedule, and risk analysis while contributing to the successful development of cutting‑edge modern weapon systems.

General Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a team of Quantech cost analysts and subject matter experts on a variety of projects.

  • Study, analyze, and develop metrics for complex modern software development programs.
  • Build complex spreadsheet-based program cost models used as decision analysis tools.
  • Apply statistics concepts to quantify the probability of success for program budget and schedule plans.
  • Conduct business case analyses, trade studies, and economic analyses.
  • Assist program managers in development and execution of contract strategies and program plans.
Candidate Strengths
  • Proficient in analyzing datasets and developing statistical models, but also able to tackle problems by thinking outside of the box.
  • Technical fast learner with the ability to communicate with multiple functional teams to gather programmatic/technical data and translate it into cost impacts for the government.
  • Experienced problem solver, comfortable working in ambiguous environments with the ability to lead financial-focused conversations with cross‑functional teams.
  • Approachable team player with the skillset to successfully work a variety of projects and take direction from multiple sources at once.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret‑level clearance.
  • Entry level to one year of experience. Relevant education/experience in quantitative analysis positions (economic analysis, analytics, statistics, regression).
