Role Description

The Senior Cost Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Knoxville, TN. This position is responsible for the maintenance, enhancement, and effective use of the organization’s cost accounting and decision support systems. This role serves as the subject matter expert for cost accounting methodologies, data integrity, and reporting, ensuring accurate and actionable financial information for decision-making. The analyst partners with operational, financial, and technical teams to drive process improvements, support system enhancements, perform complex analyses, and provide insights to leadership for the health system. Success in this role requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective working relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field is required.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills are essential to this role.
• The qualified applicant must have effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment, as well as independently taking initiative and leadership in moving projects forward.
• Healthcare experience working with data from various sources including but not limited to Cost Accounting, Decision Support, General Ledger, Payroll, Physician Practice, Patient Accounting and Supply Chain, is preferred.
• Experience with Strata is highly preferred.
