Job summary

Olin seeks a Senior Cost Accounting Analyst in Lake Jackson, TX, offering a hybrid schedule with up to 2 days remote per week. You will support cost-of-sales drivers, capital expenditures, working capital, and productivity initiatives while ensuring timely financial closes and robust management reporting.

You will work closely with the Epoxy division, leverage SAP in a manufacturing setting, and help drive efficiency and profitability through accurate costing and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; CMA or CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and SOX/internal controls.
• ERP proficiency; SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior Olin experience preferred.

• Support physical inventory observations and ensure accurate inventory accounting.
• Review fixed assets and support capitalization/depreciation processes.
• Analyze results, prepare management reports, and deliver ad hoc analyses.
• Coordinate site estimates/forecasts and support annual budgeting.
• Maintain standard costing assumptions and cost of sales drivers.
• Ensure SOX/internal controls compliance and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to identify cost optimization opportunities.

Title: Senior Cost Accounting Analyst
Location: Lake Jackson, TX
Salary: $88,400-$133,900
Schedule: Hybrid schedule available of up to 2 days remote per week

Focus: The Senior Cost Accounting Analyst supports manufacturing cost control and site accounting activities for Olin’s largest assets. In this role, you will oversee cost-of-sales drivers (raw materials, energy, manufacturing and engineering spend), capital expenditures, working capital, and productivity initiatives. You will also support accurate and timely financial closes, budgeting/forecasting, and management reporting - providing insights that help improve efficiency and profitability. This role is high impact and high visibility partnering closely with the Epoxy business division. This role offers hands‑on experience working in SAP within a manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including:
  • Executing month-end close procedures and journal entries
  • Preparing account reconciliations and investigating variances
  • Supporting physical inventory observations and ensuring accurate inventory accounting
  • Reviewing fixed assets and supporting capitalization/depreciation processes
  • Analyzing results, compiling management reports, and delivering ad hoc financial analyses
  • Coordinating site estimates/forecasts and supporting the annual budgeting process
• Support the annual standard cost‑setting process and maintain standard costing assumptions
• Maintain compliance with company policy and U.S. GAAP; support SOX/internal control activities (documentation, testing, and remediation as needed)
• Ensure audit readiness and support internal/external audit requests, including timely responses and supporting documentation
• Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to identify cost optimization opportunities, quantify impact, and track productivity initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree* in Finance or Accounting; CMA or CPA certifications preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related cost accounting experience and experience performing accounting work in a manufacturing company.
• Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and SOX/internal controls preferred.
• Proficiency with an ERP system required; SAP experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.
