Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is hiring a Senior Cost Accountant to lead full stack cost accounting across select product lines and sites. You’ll ensure standard costing accuracy, perform variance analyses, and support the year-end close with inventory reconciliations.

The role emphasizes strong internal controls, collaboration with Operations and Engineering, and readiness for potential IPO activities. Prior government contracting experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with standard costing in complex, low-volume, high-dollar environments.
• Strong knowledge of FAR/CAS government contracting cost principles.
• Experience with internal controls and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to analyze manufacturing performance and cost drivers.
• Support pricing, cost proposals, and audit requirements for government contracts (FAR/CAS).
• Contribute to IPO readiness, including audit prep and SOX-compliant controls.
• Prepare cost analyses and recommendations for strategic decisions.

We are seeking an exceptional Senior, Cost Accounting to execute full stack costaccounting for a portion of Anduril’s portfolio of products. This role is critical todriving accuracy, insight, and control across our development, manufacturing,and production operations.

ABOUT THE JOB

Reporting to the Manager, Cost Accounting, theSenior will ensure consistent and compliant application of Anduril’s standardcosting methodology and be responsible for detailed transactional and balancesheet reconciliation review. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical competency, strong leadership skills, and a risk-based approach in support of thecompany’s preparation for a potential future IPO.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Perform and continuously improve standard costing practices to ensureaccurate product costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting fordesignated product lines and production sites.
• Perform work order review, variance analysis, and closure for designatedproduct lines and production sites.
• Responsible for a portion of the Company’s cost accounting close process,including cost roll-ups, variance analysis, absorption reporting, andreconciliations of inventory and work-in-process.
• Support the adherence to internal controls to strengthen financial accuracyand compliance; identify and remediate control deficiencies as needed.
• Administer physical and cycle count programs across designated sites,ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper valuation of inventory.
• Interface directly with external auditors on cost accounting and inventory-related matters during the annual financial statement audit.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to analyzemanufacturing performance, cost drivers, and production efficiencyopportunities.
• Support pricing, cost proposal, and audit requirements related to U.S.government contracts (FAR/CAS).
• Contribute to IPO readiness initiatives, including audit preparation,systems scalability, and establishment of SOX-compliant financial controls.
• Support the Manager with preparing insightful cost analyses andrecommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Support the Manager with a continuous improvement mindset, prioritizingautomation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in all financial processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA orCMA preferred.
• 5-7 years of progressive cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience with standard costing in complex, low-volume, high-dollar manufacturing environments, with ability to grow into a high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. government contracting cost principles (FAR/CAS).
• Demonstrated experience with maintaining effective internal controls andsupporting external audits.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or similar) anddata analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across functions andinfluence senior leadership.
• Experience in a privately held company preparing for an IPO is highlydesirable.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with a focus oncontinuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities.

US Salary Range

$86,000 - $112,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
