Job summary

Tempur Sealy is recruiting a Senior Cost Accountant to own monthly/quarterly close, cost analysis, and policy adherence in Duffield, VA. You will partner with operations and project teams to analyze costs, support inventory standard costs, and drive process improvements.

The role requires a accounting degree with manufacturing exposure, CPA/CMA preferred, and strong Excel/ERP skills including AX2012 and Power BI. Hybrid options are not indicated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA or CMA license or candidate preferred.
• 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• ERP systems experience required; Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 preferred.
• Experience with Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the completion of monthly and quarterly accounting activities within cost accounting.
• Prepare costing and analysis of new products and work with project teams for decisions.
• Lead costing requests including audit of costs, BOMs, and routes.
• Support annual inventory standard cost review and labor/overhead rate reviews with operations finance.
• Analyze month end results and inventory GL reconciliations and provide analyses to management.
• Assist management in making informed decisions by reviewing financial reports.
• Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial packages.
• Monitor adherence to corporate policy and assist plants with accounting issues.
• Assist in development and monitoring of inventory and standard costing policies.
• Coordinate with internal departments to complete accounting objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
