Job summary

Tempur Sealy International is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant in Duffield, VA to own the month-end and year-end close, perform detailed cost analyses, and support policy adherence. You will work with project teams on new product costing and monitor inventory and overhead rate updates with operations finance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting, 3 years in cost/accounting, and proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX2012) and Power BI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• CPA or CMA license or candidate preferred.
• 3 years related experience and/or training.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• ERP systems experience required; Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 preferred.
• Experience with Power BI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare costing and analyses for new products with project teams.
• Audit costs, bill of materials, and routes for costing improvement.
• Review inventory standard costs and labor/overhead rates with operations finance.
• Analyze month-end results and GL reconciliations for management.

This function requires well developed skills in accounting, business analysis, and process improvement. What You’ll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities):· Lead the completion of monthly and quarterly accounting activities within cost accounting· Prepares costing and analysis of new products and works closely with project teams to provide metrics utilized in product development decisions· Leads costing request initiatives including the audit of costs, bill of materials, and routes· Supports the annual review of the inventory standard costs and prepares the annual review of the labor and overhead rates in coordination with operations finance· Analyzes month end results and inventory-related general ledger account reconciliations and provides detailed analysis results to management and business partners· Assist management in making informed decisions by reviewing, analyzing, and explaining financial reports· Assists in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial packages for analysis and review· Monitors adherence to corporate policy and processes.
