Job summary

QUEUE in Pittsboro, Indiana seeks a Senior Cost Accountant to support a growing manufacturing operation. You will analyze and maintain standard costs, monitor variances, and manage inventory valuation and cost-related journal entries.

Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance on cost drivers, month-end close, and cost-model development to drive pricing, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong ERP and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of cost accounting or relevant accounting experience.
• Manufacturing or product-based accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting and variance analysis.
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems; Viewpoint, Acumatica, or similar systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Monitor cost variances and provide analysis to management.
• Manage inventory valuation, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Prepare cost-accounting and inventory-related journal entries.
• Support and lead cost-accounting month-end close activities.
• Reconcile inventory and cost-related general ledger accounts.
• Analyze COGS and manufacturing costs.
• Develop cost models to support pricing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
• Assist with ERP improvements and implementations related to cost accounting.
