Vaco is partnering with a Fortune 200 global organization to hire a Senior Cost Accountant in Fort Worth. The role focuses on inventory and manufacturing accounting, cost analyses, and month-end close with opportunities to influence financial performance.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in cost/inventory/manufacturing accounting, solid GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and strong Excel skills. Onsite role with growth opportunities within a large corporate environment.

Responsabilidades

• Own significant cost and inventory accounting activities (standard costs, COGS, inventory valuation).
• Analyze variances in material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing costs and partner with operations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain standard costs, BOMs, overhead rates, and cost structures.
• Monitor inventory activity, assist cycle counts, and analyze obsolete inventory.
• Collaborate with plant operations, supply chain, FP&A and corporate accounting to explain costs and margins.
• Prepare management reports on product costs, manufacturing performance, and gross margin.
• Assist in audits and maintain strong accounting controls and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve cost reporting.

Senior Cost Accountant

Vaco is partnering with a Fortune 200 global organization - they are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its growing accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build deeper expertise in cost and operational accounting while gaining exposure to a large, sophisticated organization.

The Senior Cost Accountant will play a key role in inventory and manufacturing accounting, cost analysis, month-end close, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Own key aspects of cost accounting and inventory accounting, including standard costs, cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and manufacturing-related accounting activities.
• Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and manufacturing variances, researching significant fluctuations and partnering with operations to understand underlying drivers.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.
• Maintain and evaluate standard costs, bill of materials, overhead rates, and related cost structures.
• Monitor inventory activity and assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reserves, and excess or obsolete inventory analysis.
• Partner closely with plant operations, supply chain, FP&A, and corporate accounting to provide insight into costs, margins, and operational performance.
• Prepare management reporting and analysis related to product costs, manufacturing performance, gross margin, and operational trends.
• Support internal and external audit requests and maintain strong accounting controls and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of cost accounting activities.
• Participate in special projects and broader finance initiatives, providing exposure to multiple areas of the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Approximately 4+ years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to cost, inventory, manufacturing, or operational accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close.
• Experience working with ERP systems and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze large amounts of financial and operational data and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, large-company environment.
• CPA, CMA, or progress toward certification is a plus but not required.
