Job description

Job Purpose:

Accountable for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities.

Essential Functions:

1. Work order review and analysis
2. Review of manufacturing costs and variances
3. Inventory valuation analysis
4. Review and calculation of overhead rates
5. ERP System setup
6. Integral part of process improvement
7. Month-end closing tasks including journal entries, analysis of revenue and cost of sales, accruals, inventory reporting, analysis of reserves, and financial results

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Strong interaction with key Manufacturing and Sales personnel
2. Assist management on special projects as required
3. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries; assist in delivering necessary training to ensure all coworkers have the skills to perform their jobs safely and properly
4. Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (internal & external)
5. Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all Company policies to eliminate or reduce liability exposure
6. Perform any special projects or work as assigned

Qualifications Guidelines

Experience/Training/Education:

• Required: Accounting Degree. Minimum 5 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment
• Desired: CPA and/or CMA designations or MBA; Management experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows software
• ERP implementation experience (desired)
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
• Detail-oriented

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This is primarily a sedentary office role with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature, and no exposure to hazardous substances. May require offsite work in various environments. Travel may be necessary. Must have finger dexterity for data entry and operation of standard office equipment. Clear communication skills are essential. The role may involve bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting reports or records weighing less than 30 pounds.
