Job summary

CFS in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join a hybrid team where you’ll link costing insights to manufacturing performance. You’ll own standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory reporting in a collaborative environment that values operational impact.

You’ll partner with operations, engineering, and supply chain, drive process improvements, and contribute to close activities. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years in cost accounting.
• Experience with manufacturing costing, inventory, and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage standard costing, BOM updates, and cost roll processes.
• Lead cost variance analysis (material, labor, overhead) and reporting.
• Support monthly close including journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory reporting.
• Oversee inventory accounting accuracy, including cycle counts and physical inventory.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve costing processes and reporting.
