Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks an experienced Senior Engineering Technician (Corrosion) Level V in Norfolk, VA to support HM&E engineering and technical services for DDG 51 Flight III ships. You will assist with corrosion control inspections, maintain documentation, and coordinate crew activities during trials and certifications.

The role emphasizes shipboard corrosion expertise, collaboration with Navy personnel, and attention to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Five years of corrosion prevention and control on Navy ships.
• Experience with VOC compliance regulations (Clean Air Act, NESHAP, EPA, OSHA).
• Experience conducting surveys of underwater hulls and decks to evaluate corrosion control systems.

Responsibilities

• Research spare parts and alternatives for ship systems; provide actionable information to end users.
• Deliver updates to technical documentation for installation, testing, operation, and maintenance.
• Support updates to EOSS, Technical Manuals, and PMS.
