Job summary

State of Oregon's Oregon Department of Corrections seeks a Correctional Sergeant (CRCI) at Columbia River Correctional Institution in Portland. You will lead custody and daily care of adults in custody, supervise movements, transports, searches, and emergency responses, and serve as a field training officer.

As a senior security staff member, you'll model professionalism, oversee staff development, and help ensure safe, efficient facility operations while supporting rehabilitation efforts.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a correctional security setting with custody of AICs.
• Must obtain DPSST Correctional Certificate or equivalent within two weeks.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21 years or older and United States citizen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody.
• Lead staff, supervise AICs during movement, and monitor high-security areas.
• Conduct transports, searches, and emergency responses; mentor staff as needed.
