Job summary

The State of Maryland, Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, invites applications for an instructional position in Jessup, MD. The incumbent will deliver a curriculum to meet MPCTC standards, manage training records, and ensure staff maintain required training hours.

This role includes supervisory duties, coordination with the Regional Training Coordinator, and ensuring effective training delivery across the institution at 7805 House of Correction Rd, Jessup, MD 20794.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or high school equivalency accepted by the Maryland State Board of Education as described in the MPCTC regulation.
• Three years of experience as a Correctional Officer involving custody and security of adult inmates.
• Notes: substitutions allowed per regulation including extra education or prior state/correctional experience.

Responsibilities

• Instructs/facilitates a designed curriculum to ensure compliance with MPCTC standards and for professional development.
• Maintain and report training records; ensure staff receive required training hours to maintain certification.
• Assist Regional Training Coordinator in assessing training needs, designing programs, and evaluating effectiveness; supervise Institutional Trainer.
