Job summary

The incumbent supervises inmate housing, enforces rules, may use restraints, and handles emergencies with CPR/first aid. Active participation in training and leadership duties is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a US citizen.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed basic recruit training for correctional officers with one year of experience.
• No recent suspensions; no involuntary demotions in past 24 months; no rating below 3.00 in last 3 fiscal years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises inmates and manages housing areas, enforcing rules.
• Transports inmates using restraints and complies with laws.
• Conducts head counts and maintains custody and control.
• Performs crisis intervention and may use restraints or force.
• Maintains facility security and inspects for contraband.
• Provides emergency response including CPR and first aid.
• Directs officers in supervision and reporting.
