King’s Insurance Staffing is partnering with a major national P&C carrier to recruit a senior underwriting leader. The role focuses on enterprise-level governance, risk discipline, and underwriting quality across divisions, stepping away from production and broker-facing duties.

An ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial underwriting, with strong technical knowledge and the ability to communicate credibly with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. Remote work capability is offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial P&C underwriting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of underwriting principles and risk selection.
• Experience in production, home-office, corporate, product, or portfolio underwriting.
• Exposure to underwriting audit, quality assurance, governance, or authority management is highly attractive.

Responsibilities

• Shape corporate underwriting quality and review standards.
• Oversee underwriting guidelines, authorities, referrals, and exceptions.
• Ensure consistency of underwriting practices across divisions.
• Monitor portfolio-level risk trends and emerging exposure areas.
• Drive underwriting reporting, controls, and operational efficiencies.
• Facilitate collaboration between underwriting leadership, executives, and enterprise risk teams.
