Job summary

State Street is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the Corporate Strategy team in Boston, reporting to the SVP and partnering with senior executives on enterprise strategy.

You will shape high-priority initiatives, provide an enterprise perspective, and translate complex analysis into clear actions for the Executive Committee and Board audiences. A strong track record in financial services strategy and developing senior teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in corporate strategy or strategy consulting.
• Experience shaping enterprise strategy and leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Deep understanding of financial services strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-priority strategic initiatives from problem definition through execution planning.
• Frame ambiguous enterprise questions, develop hypotheses, direct analysis, and ensure actionable recommendations.
• Support and lead components of firm-wide strategic planning with clear choices and measures of success.
• Integrate business and functional perspectives while maintaining a firm-wide view of competition and winning.
• Monitor market and client developments; initiate focused analysis when conditions change.
• Maintain accountability for quality, pace, and impact across multiple projects.
