Job summary

FENNIE+MEHL Architects in San Francisco's SOMA district seeks a Senior Interior Designer to lead corporate interiors projects from pursuit through construction completion. You will act as the accountable design authority, managing budgets, schedules, staffing, and client relationships while guiding complex Principal-led projects.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of corporate interiors experience, proficiency in Revit and FF&E procurement, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor junior

Qualifications

• 8 years minimum professional experience with a focus on Corporate Interiors, including demonstrated experience leading project teams, fees, and schedules
• Proficiency in Revit; proficiency in Enscape, renderings, CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Excel, MS Office tools, and Bluebeam Revu
• Demonstrated ability to create construction documents independently and QC the work of others
• Deep FF&E specification and procurement experience
• Proven client-facing experience: presentations, relationship management, and business development participation
• Track record of mentoring and directing the work of other design staff
• Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in interior design or architecture

Responsibilities

• Project Design Leadership: Set and defend the design vision from visioning and programming through FF&E and construction
• Market Fluency: Keep a finger on the pulse of current furniture, material, finish, and design directions for commercial interiors
• Documentation & Technical Quality: Create construction documents independently and QC all team drawing sets
• Project Management Leadership: Day-to-day ownership managing project-specific budget, schedule, workload, and staffing
• Client & Business Development: Steward long-term relationships into repeat work and lead proposals
• Team Development: Mentor and direct junior staff and lead in-house design and technical training
