Job summary

Function Health is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Commercial & Employment to join our growing Legal team in Austin. You will draft, negotiate and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements while supporting employment-related matters as we scale.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years of sophisticated legal experience, with strong drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills, preferably from a leading law firm or high-growth tech company.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar in at least one US state.
• Approximately 5+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally in law firm and/or high-growth tech.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements.
• Ability to independently manage contracts from review to execution.
• Employment matters experience strongly preferred.
• Excellent legal judgment and clear stakeholder communication.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements.
• Provide practical, commercially minded legal counsel to cross-functional teams.
• Structure and negotiate complex commercial relationships for efficient deal execution.
• Develop understanding of Function Health's products and priorities to guide legal decisions.
• Support the People team on employment-related matters and policies.
• Identify legal risks and translate them into actionable guidance for stakeholders.
• Help build scalable contract templates, playbooks, and CLM processes.
