Job summary

Compass Group USA in Charlotte, NC seeks a Corporate Counsel to review, negotiate, and document commercial contracts for Compass Group USA, Inc. and its affiliates, with a focus on vending, coffee, commissary and food services.

This hybrid role requires a JD and state bar, at least seven years of contracts experience, and the ability to partner with legal, finance, and business teams to manage complex transactions and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a contracts attorney.
• Juris Doctor degree and state bar license.
• Experience in corporate law and vendor/food service industry is a plus.
• Strong communication and drafting skills.
• Ability to manage complex transactions.
• Self-starter with proactive, business-focused mindset.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including Master Service Agreements and RFPs.
• Develop contract strategies to optimize terms, reduce risk and ensure favorable outcomes.
• Collaborate with legal, finance and business teams to support goals and mitigate risk.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
• Provide sound legal advice to internal clients on strategies and decisions.
• Manage assignments independently and meet deadlines.
