Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors in Denver seeks an Associate Director, Corporate Accounting Manager to lead the Corporate Accounting group, primarily Expenses team, and oversee policies, consolidations and governance.

You will manage journal entries, consolidations, month-end close, liaise with external auditors, and drive internal controls and staff development while working in a hybrid environment with competitive benefits and a potential bonus.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of related accounting experience required.
• CPA preferred.
• Combination of public accounting and/or industry experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

• Maintain the company’s system of accounts and keep books and records on all company transactions and assets. Responsible for all general accounting and control activities such as journal entries, consolidations, account analysis and reconciliation, maintenance of account structures, ensuring data integrity in corporate financial systems and monthly close coordination.
• Function as a point of contact with external auditors and coordinate data for audits.
• Keep abreast of best practices in governance and internal controls and incorporate them into processes.
• Provide management and direction of staff in accounting functions, including hiring, performance appraisals, training and development, and salary adjustments.
• Liaise with management in other departments to understand initiatives and impacts on financial reporting; respond to auditor/SEC/IRS requests.
• Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, systems and internal standards to enhance efficiency.
• Plan, implement, coordinate, and execute Internal Controls.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
