Job summary

Centric Brands is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant in New York City to assist with month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and daily general ledger operations for Corporate Accounting. This role reports to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with SAP and BPC.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years accounting experience in mid-size to large company.
• Undergraduate accounting degree.
• Knowledge of GAAP and month-end close.
• SAP and BPC experience considered a plus.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Book, reconcile, and report financial activity.
• Prepare entries including SaaS capitalization, payroll, accruals, and prepaids.
• Monitor reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure all closing and reporting deadlines are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis.
• Coordinate year-end audit deliverables and tax compliance.
• Back-up month-end duties as needed.
• Utilize accounting IT system and AI tools to improve processes.

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Centric Brands is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to assist in preparing month end close, balance sheet account reconciliations and overseeing the general ledger accounting daily operations for Corporate Accounting. This position is based in New York City, New York and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to booking, reconciling and reporting financial activity
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries including SaaS implementation capitalization, payroll, accrual, prepaids and deposits
• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness
• Ensure all financial closing and reporting deadlines that have been assigned are met.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities from flux analysis and balance sheet reconciliation
• Interact with FP&A, Payroll and other departments to align actual with budget
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and footnotes filed on a quarterly and annual
• Coordinate year-end audit deliverables for assigned areas and corporate income tax compliance
• Maintain organized, accurate and complete accounting records, electronically and hard copies, as necessary
• Back-up month-end duties assigned to other Accountants
• Utilize accounting IT system and AI tool to facilitate processes improvements and maintain records
• All other Ad Hoc functions

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

• 3-5 years practical accounting experience from mid-size to large company with undergraduate accounting degree
• Familiarity with month end close and journal entry process
• Strong analytical/planning skills, together with a strong accounting/control background
• Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of SAP and BPC a plus
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Advanced knowledge of excel. Being able to put together and take apart vast amounts of data from different sources
• Ability to create ad hoc reports and analysis
• Work well in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range: $85,000 - $115,000

Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
