Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our growing Corporate Accounting team. You will analyze monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, record accruals, prepare journal entries, and support audit deliverables with GAAP alignment.

Based in our US offices with in-person attendance at least 3 days a week, you will partner across FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and external auditors to streamline data flow, automate processes, and scale the close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3-5 years of total experience, preferably combined in public accounting and industry.
• Understanding of GAAP standards.

Robinhood's Corporate Accounting team is growing quickly to keep pace with the company's expanding scale and complexity. We partner closely with FP&A, Legal, Treasury, and our external auditors to keep the books accurate, timely, and audit-ready. The team takes pride in clear communication, sound judgment, and supporting one another through competing deadlines. As a Senior Corporate Accountant, you'll analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations, helping stakeholders understand what's driving the numbers. You'll record and reconcile accrual and prepaid transactions, prepare and maintain monthly journal entries, and complete account reconciliations and flux analysis. You'll support internal requests and external audit deliverables, and research technical accounting questions to recommend practices aligned with GAAP. You'll partner with stakeholders across the business to streamline data flow and processes, and contribute to system automation projects that make the monthly close more efficient.

This role is based in our New York, NY, Menlo Park, CA, and Chicago, IL offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• Analyze and explain monthly balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and variances.


• Record and reconcile accrual and prepaid transactions, including preparing and maintaining monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.


• Assist with compiling internal team requests and external audit requests.


• Research important accounting issues and recommend best practices and applications in accordance with GAAP.


• Lead meetings with stakeholders across departments.


• Partner with stakeholders across the business on shared accounting priorities.


• Work with various departments to streamline data flow and processes.


• Assist with system automation projects as needed.

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.


• 3-5 years of total experience, preferably combined in public accounting and industry.


• Understanding of GAAP standards.


• Strong analytical and organizational skills.


• Experience with process improvement and proficiency with spreadsheets.


• Hands-on experience in the financial close process (preferred).


• Experience with foreign entity accounting.

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.

$94,000 - $110,000 USD

Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL)

$82,000 - $97,000 USD

Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL)

$73,000 - $86,000 USD
