Full-Time Corporate Senior Accountant (External Reporting)

Location: Atlanta, GA (Midtown; Across from the Georgia Tech Campus)

Job Type: Full-Time

Work Environment: Hybrid (4 Days In-Office, 1 Day Remote; Except For The Last 2 Weeks Of Each Quarter, Which Is 5 Days In-Office)

Position Overview:

The client is seeking a sharp and intelligent Corporate Senior Accountant to join their corporate controllers group. This role will primarily focus on external reporting (70%) and lease accounting under ASC 842 (30%). The ideal candidate will have a background in public accounting, preferably from a large firm, and possess the capability to learn new concepts quickly. The managers will provide guidance and support during the transition into external reporting and lease accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries and manage monthly and quarterly accounting tasks.
• Assist in preparing external financial reports and regulatory filings (10Q, 10K, 8K).
• Manage lease accounting to ensure compliance with accounting standards (ASC 842).
• Support the development of materials for investor communications and ensure accuracy in publicly shared documents.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the accounting function.
• Ensure adherence to internal policies and maintain documentation for compliance controls.
• Lead ad hoc projects with the ability to work independently.
• Conduct research to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate effectively with external auditors during audits and reviews.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master's preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in corporate accounting or related Big 4 audit experience, particularly with SEC clients.
• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Oracle ERP or reporting tools like Essbase/SmartView is a plus.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
