Job summary

BIP US is seeking a senior Core Java Engineer to support a large-scale modernization effort across rates eTrading pricing and execution platforms within a global markets environment.

The role focuses on understanding, decomposing, and enhancing a mature pricing platform while migrating functionality to a newer strategic architecture. You will work with DAGs, event-driven processing, and multithreaded execution.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Java software engineering in enterprise trading or pricing.
• Experience reverse engineering legacy systems with limited documentation.
• Strong understanding of large-scale system modernization.

Responsibilities

• Reverse engineer and enhance a mature Core Java pricing platform supporting rates eTrading workflows.
• Decompose legacy pricing functionality into components for incremental migration.
• Modify pricing engines to route inputs to downstream calculators and back to trader workflows.
• Develop integrations between legacy components, external pricing services, market data, and UI layers.
• Work with graph-based calculator frameworks (DAGs) and manage calculation cycles and outputs.
• Ensure thread safety, resiliency, and performance in multithreaded pricing apps.
• Support pricing calculations, curve generation, IO management, and high-volume processing.
• Collaborate with traders, quants, and platform teams to translate requirements into engineered solutions.
• Contribute to modernization planning, documentation, and production stability.
