Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Core Infrastructure to design and implement control-plane services and APIs for DNS management. You will build production-grade Java services with Python automation, emphasizing robust API design and reliability.

You will work with DNS data plane, security, networking, and SRE teams to deliver secure, end-to-end platform improvements and scalable DNS workflows. Strong cloud experience and AI-assisted development tools are valued.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 4+ years building production-grade distributed systems or cloud services.
• Strong proficiency in Java and production service development.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows.
• Strong API design skills including REST/OpenAPI contracts.
• Experience designing reliable stateful workflows, including retries and idempotency.
• Solid Linux and networking fundamentals; experience with containers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control-plane services and APIs for DNS zones, records, views, policies, and routing configuration.
• Build reliable workflows for validation, change orchestration, propagation, reconciliation, and lifecycle management across distributed DNS infrastructure.
• Develop production services and libraries primarily in Java, with Python automation where needed, focusing on API quality.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate design, testing, and operational automation with proper human review.
• Improve safety, observability, and operational readiness with canary releases, rollback paths, and audit trails.
• Own monitoring, logs, metrics, SLOs, and capacity planning; collaborate with DNS data plane, security, networking, and SRE teams.
