Job summary

Varo Money is seeking Sr. IT Manager, Core Banking in Charlotte, NC to lead a core banking platform team and drive major system initiatives. You will own delivery, release management, and platform strategy while aligning with business and regulatory requirements.

The role requires extensive experience in core banking modules, data migration, and COB processing, plus strong SQL and stakeholder management. We offer bonus/equity benefits and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams delivering core banking projects.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into IT strategy and roadmaps.
• Knowledge of core banking modules, interfaces, and data migration.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead the internal core vendor team for core banking implementation and maintenance.
• Develop deep knowledge of bank infrastructure to inform technical product requirements.
• Lead projects for new system implementations or major upgrades.
• Diagnose issues with core banking and money movement systems, including COB processing.
• Connect core banking with mobile banking and digital payment systems.
• Ensure security, data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with IT, operations and business users to define requirements and readiness.
• Own release management and delivery; drive platform strategy and capabilities.
• Advise on vendor roadmap and evangelize internally and externally.
