Job summary

Hook is a remote-first creative content agency seeking a Senior Copywriter to solve client marketing challenges with strong messaging across formats and campaign types. You will ideate creative concepts, shape messaging strategy, and guide projects from research and pitching through to delivery.

The role blends individual contributor work with creative leadership, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with Motion and Design to ensure on-brand, high-quality output across channels.

WHAT’S A SENIOR COPYWRITER AT HOOK?

Senior Copywriters aim to solve client marketing challenges with an emphasis on ideating creative concepts, developing messaging strategy, speaking within a designated brand narrative, and technical constraint writing. Regardless of output medium, their core responsibilities include insightful concept development, detailed creative oversight during campaign production, and hands‑on writing across multiple workstreams.

A great Senior Copywriter is an experienced and articulate advertising leader that’s capable of collaboratively guiding clients through the creative process. They strike a balance between performing individual contributor duties and working toward broader solutions as part of a creative leadership cohort. They intelligently lead projects through all phases of development, from research and pitching to delivery — acting as a skilled interface between client needs and production capabilities, ultimately working to ensure the success of all work they touch — whether delegating or directly completing.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead the creation of brand messaging and themes that succeed across mediums, formats, and campaign types with a focus on Direct Response writing.
• Lead conceptual development and pitching efforts by writing and/or directing strategically driven messaging and creative deliverables.
• Lead client‑facing conversations focused on the development and refinement of campaign messaging.
• Work with producers to ensure copy is delivered on deadline and in accordance with brand standards and client criteria.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with Motion and Design, ensuring that concepts meet the requirements for all formats and mediums.
• Maintain and promote an internal awareness of industry creative trends and standards with a strong focus on narrative tone and ideation.
• Explore AI tools related to messaging, ideation, and tasks that impact client work
• Mentor and support junior creative staff toward the goal of accelerating skill progression through a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Offer the team support through creative problem-solving, process improvements, synthesizing briefs, and elevating the work, with a focus on areas other than copywriting.
