Job summary

Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Arizona, is seeking a Senior Cook to plan daily food production and prepare items for production sheets, café menus, and catering requests.

The role supports patient meals, retail dining, and events in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of production cooking experience, with strong knowledge of cooking principles, diet substitutions, and safe kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Two or more years of similar work experience in production cooking.
• Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures, read and understand written and verbal instruction, communicate effectively, perform math calculations for recipes and production, and learn food handling regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items according to standardized recipes and adjusts quantities for yields.
• Plans food production timing and quantities per daily orders and production assignments.
• Minimizes food waste and records shortages/excesses according to procedures.
• Checks and logs temperatures of food and equipment; follows safety requirements.
• Maintains par levels and restocks items; rotates stock and checks freshness dates.
• Keeps work areas clean and orderly; reports needed equipment repairs.
• Oversees deliveries and production quality when needed; provides cooking leadership to the kitchen staff.
• Works under general supervision and collaborates with teams; may interact with external customers in café/catering.
