Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Senior Cook in Phoenix, AZ to prepare fresh hot foods for production and retail services, and assist in patient meals, retail dining, and events. You will collaborate with teams on dishwashing, prep, inventory, and restocking while delivering premier customer service.

The role requires 2+ years in production cooking, strong knowledge of recipes and diets, and ability to follow policies and safety rules in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of similar work experience in production cooking.
• Solid understanding of cooking principles, menu substitutions and modified recipes for all commonly prescribed diets.
• Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures, read and understand written and verbal instructions, and perform recipe math.

Responsibilities

• Plans daily food production for assigned areas and produces items based on production sheets, menus, and catering requests.
• Adjusts quantities and timing to meet daily orders and substitutions for special diets.
• Minimizes waste through planning and tracking; maintains temperatures and logs as required.
