Job summary

Sierra Conveyance and Automation in Rocklin, CA is seeking a Senior Conveyance Project & Applications Engineer to lead conveyor system projects from concept through delivery. The role requires managing client relationships, preparing estimates and proposals, and coordinating with design, engineering, and controls teams.

Ideal candidates have 3-5+ years in automation/conveyor systems, a mechanical/industrial engineering degree, and strong project management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years experience in automation and/or conveyor systems (engineering or technical sales).
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Proven project management capabilities across multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to travel as required (local with some domestic trips).
• Proficient with AutoCAD (2D layout experience required).
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or with a team.
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage your own portfolio of conveyor system projects from inquiry through proposal and handoff.
• Work directly with clients to understand application needs and propose tailored solutions.
• Prepare estimates, technical proposals, layouts, and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and controls teams as needed.
• Travel to customer sites for site visits, project scoping, and relationship development – all travel costs paid.
• Utilize AutoCAD to create and/or modify system layout drawings.
