Job summary

Evergy is seeking a Conventional Gen Sr Project Manager to lead multi-billion-dollar generation projects in Northwest Missouri. The role oversees the complete lifecycle from origination to commercial operation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders and managing budgets and schedules.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of large-scale PM experience, a strong engineering/business background, and the ability to navigate a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance or related field required.
• At least five years of dedicated large-scale project management experience on multi-year, multi-vendor capital projects.
• PMP designation encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing the full lifecycle of complex, multi-billion-dollar capital projects from origination to commercial operation.
• Navigate a matrixed stakeholder environment and ensure effective communication among internal and external parties.
• Manage technical aspects of constructing generation units, ensuring regulatory compliance and technical standards.
• Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and resources are allocated.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations across projects.
• Provide regular formal and informal project updates to stakeholders and management.
• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and performance improvements.
• Oversee contracts with vendors and contractors, ensuring terms are met.
• Implement quality controls to meet deliverable standards and customer expectations.
