Job summary

GALLO is seeking a Controls Technician to maintain, install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate plant instrumentation and control systems while applying programming knowledge to minimize downtime and improve performance.

You will lead PLC/HMI project adjustments, equipment upgrades, and Kepware changes, collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• BS degree plus PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience.
• Technical or HS route with significant PLC experience acceptable.
• Ability to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights; willingness to rotate shifts.

A Taste of What You'll Do

Join GALLO as a Controls Technician and play a key role in advancing safe, reliable, and high-performing plant operations. In this hands-on technical role, you will maintain, install, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate plant instrumentation and control systems while applying advanced knowledge of programming, process controls, and production equipment. You will help minimize downtime, improve performance, and recommend practical solutions that strengthen both processes and equipment.

As a trusted technical resource, you will serve as the Controls Lead for complex issues requiring escalation and support Plant Engineering projects as a controls lead or systems integrator. Your work may include PLC and HMI project adjustments, equipment upgrades, electrical component replacement and parameter downloads, MES and Historian tag integration, Kepware changes, and troubleshooting communication networks such as DeviceNet, Data Highway, and CAN I/O.

You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, vendors, and cross-functional partners to develop ideas, evaluate technical and cost information, execute continuous-improvement initiatives, and support capital assets and new-product commercialization. You will help identify obsolescence risks, research and implement technology improvements, assess test results, and communicate project progress, timelines, budgets, and potential roadblocks.

You will use Lean Six Sigma principles to investigate challenges and deliver improvements that support equipment reliability, yield, and efficiency. What You'll Need

• Bachelor of Science Degree plus 3 year of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
• Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
• May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.

How You'll Stand Out

• Bachelor of Science Degree plus 5 years of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 7 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 9 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
