Job summary

GALLO is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Technician to maintain, install, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems. You will apply programming and controls knowledge to diagnose issues, support uptime, and protect product quality while collaborating with Operations and Maintenance teams.

You will work with PLCs, HMIs, electrical test equipment, and RS Linx, performing tasks such as replacing components, downloading parameters, and updating PLC/HMI data with guidance

Qualifications

• 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 1 year of experience with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR high school diploma or State issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of experience with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders; work at heights.
• Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
• May work rotating shifts including graveyard and overtime.
• Able to read, comprehend, and execute simple instructions and memos; basic math skills.
• Willing to travel up to 5% for onboarding, training, meetings and events.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems with minimal supervision.
• Troubleshoot using PLCs, HMIs, electrical test equipment, RS Linx, and data management.
• Replace failed electrical components and manage PLC/HMI data changes with guidance.
• Contribute ideas and identify opportunities to improve assets and processes.
• Uphold GMP, quality, environmental responsibility, and safety in daily operations.

A Taste of What You'll Do

Join GALLO as an Instrumentation and Controls Technician and help keep our plant operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands-on role, you will maintain, install, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation, control systems, and related equipment with minimal supervision. You will apply foundational programming and controls knowledge to diagnose issues, support equipment uptime, and help protect product quality.

You will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to troubleshoot using PLCs, HMIs, electrical test equipment, Asset Center, and RS Linx. Responsibilities include replacing failed electrical components, downloading parameters, uploading PLC and HMI data to investigate issues, and executing PLC code changes with guidance from experienced technicians. You will also contribute ideas, identify improvement opportunities, solve technical challenges, and communicate the status of active work clearly.

What You'll Need

• 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 1 year of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State issued equivalency certificate plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
• Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
• May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.
• Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
• Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
• Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out

• Bachelor of Science Degree plus one year experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Knowledge of motion control and servo drive technology (software and hardware).
• Understanding of the basic principles of Ethernet networks and addressing, HMI, SCADA, and computer network communication systems.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, MicroLogix, SLC500, PLC5, ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FlexLogix. Proficient in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Allen-Bradley, PLC HMI hardware and software, PanelView, PanelView+, and FactoryTalk Studio ME.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of process control and 4-20 ma current loop architecture.

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by multiple factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
