Job summary

Avance Consulting is seeking a Controls Manager to lead the development of controls and software platform solutions for automotive programs. You will oversee feasibility, risk management, and cross-functional integration with Propulsion System teams while guiding a team of controls engineers.

The role requires a MS/BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in engineering with 2 years in automotive, and hands-on MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and embedded C experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with 2 years in automotive.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment.
• Experience as Controls/SW developer using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C, testing or calibration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide feasibility and cost assessment for Controls & SW to vehicle/programs.
• Represent Controls System as primary interface with Propulsion System Community.
• Define Feature Roll-out Plan aligned with program milestones.
• Lead change management, quality assessment, and risk mitigation for controls & SW.
• Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers and foster collaboration.
• Ensure rigorous validation of control functions throughout the development cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cutting-edge controls technology.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in controls engineering processes and technologies.
