Kodiak Robotics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Software Engineer for the Motion Planning & Controls team in Mountain View.

You will design and implement control strategies, test reliable safety-critical software for fully-loaded trucks, and collaborate across hardware and systems teams to deliver robust vehicle control architectures. You will bring a strong robotics and controls background, including end-to-end safety focus and production-quality C/C++ skills, plus experience with

Qualifications

• Strong background in robotics, controls, optimization, and mathematics (MS, PhD, or equivalent).
• Developed, tested, and tuned controllers for mobile autonomous systems (trucks/cars).
• Experience with system identification, modeling, and simulation for complex dynamics.
• Solid theoretical foundation with practical controls/system modeling experience.
• Focus on end-to-end vehicle safety and production-level C/C++ software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement feedback, control, and actuation strategies for autonomous trucks.
• Architect and test reliable, redundant safety-critical software for road vehicles.
• Characterize vehicle platform to develop models for motion planning and control.
• Work on redundant actuation, degraded operation, and fail-safe control.
• Collaborate with hardware, motion planning, and systems engineering teams to deliver robust control architecture.
