Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Control System Engineer with deep experience in Ignition SCADA and PLC-based control development.

You will help build Power Plant Controllers for grid-scale energy storage systems, integrating PLCs, databases, EMS controllers and IEDs for reliable, efficient operation. The role focuses on designing SCADA/HMI interfaces, implementing control algorithms, and ensuring real-time data acquisition with OPC UA and DNP3.

Qualifications

• PLC programming experience (structured text, ladder logic)
• Control systems engineering background
• Ignition SCADA or similar experience
• OPC UA, DNP3, Modbus, Goose familiarity
• SQL database integration knowledge
• Experience drafting design documents and test validation procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PLC-based control systems using IEC 61131-2
• Integrate Ignition SCADA with PLCs, databases, EMS controllers and IEDs
• Develop HMIs and dashboards for plant visualization and control
• Design control algorithms for Power Plant Controller in grid-scale storage
• Configure OPC UA, DNP3 and other protocols for real-time data acquisition
• System commissioning, testing and validation
• Maintain documentation of controller designs and timelines
• Interface with PMs, project engineers to meet specs
