Jedson Engineering seeks a Lead Controls Engineer with Honeywell Experion expertise to lead instrumentation and control projects in Kansas City, MO. The role requires directing client communications, defining scope, and delivering engineering deliverables.

Ideal candidate has 10+ years in project engineering (EPC or engineering firm) and a BS in Engineering. You will mentor junior automation staff and ensure on-budget, on-time project success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Honeywell Experion DCS and hardware selection.
• Associate degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school.
• B.S. degree in Engineering is preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience in project engineering, including EPC or engineering firm experience.
• Familiar with industrial automation and IT structure and configuration including server configuration, networking, Historian.
• Experience driving projects within budget from initiation through a successful and timely conclusion.
• Knowledge of front-end engineering and detailed engineering process.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and foster positive client relationships.
• Able to mentor junior automation specialists in systems, practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document the scope of work.
• Size and specify instrumentation including pressure and temperature transmitters, flow meters, modulating control valves, regulators, on/off valves, and actuators.
• Create datasheets and work with vendors to get quotes for instrumentation and valves for various applications.
• Coordinate with process engineering team to select the appropriate devices.
• Create schematics, termination drawings, or loop sheets for instrument wiring.
• Design custom control panels to meet the project need.
• Understand project success criteria and ensure client expectations are met.
• Develop and track project costs.
• Identify, document, and communicate changes to scope.
• Identify and effectively respond to clients issues and needs.
• Ensure value is provided to the client and develop & earn their trust.
• Review and manage all project deliverables.
• Coordinate and supervise project implementation, control project costs, monitor progress and quality of the project.
